Airbag Man Suspension: How to operate and check your airbags!

Airbag suspension gives you the ability to provide a comfortable ride and adjustable load carrying capacity simply by adding air to your airbags.  Airbag Man Suspension is specifically designed to keep your factory or aftermarket ride height intact while towing or carrying a load.  Auto Giant has been using Airbag Man's Air Suspension systems for many years now. Established in 1995, Airbag Man offers high quality airbag suspension kits and accessories designed for light to heavy automotive applications.

Here's how to operate your Airbag Man air suspension:

  1. Ensure your vehicle is evenly and safely loaded within the manufacturer’s specifications.  Your specific Airbag Operating Height and Pressures can be found in the Fitting Instruction document linked with your Airbag Man kit number.
  1. Under load – return your vehicle to the manufacturer’s suspension height by adding air to each airbag in turn.
  1. When load is removed - simply remove air from both the airbags to bring the height down to the manufacturer’s suspension height, or the minimum operating pressure.  Use only enough air pressure in the airbags to maintain the manufacturer’s suspension height. This amount will vary depending on the load, location of the load & the condition of existing suspension. - Contact Auto Giant if you are reaching your maximum operating pressure or if your required pressures have increased, for further assistance.

Here's how to periodically check your Airbag Man airbags:

  1. Visually inspect the airbag suspension system: Take a look at the airbag suspension system components, including the airbags, airlines and compressor, checking for debris build-up, damage or wear and tear. This could include sand and gravel, unsecure connections or damage to the compressor or other components. – Contact Auto Giant for further information or inspection.
  1. Check the suspension height and the pressure range: The suspension height is critical to ensure the vehicle is being operated correctly to suit the load, ensuring the airbags and suspension are doing their job.  Ensure the operating pressure is within range for reliable performance and load carrying within the vehicle specification.  - Contact Auto Giant for any questions regarding your operating height and pressures.
  1. Have your vehicle serviced regularly: It's important to have your vehicle serviced regularly by a professional to ensure that all factory and aftermarket systems are functioning properly and to address any issues before they become major problems. This can include replacing worn components, checking for leaks, and updating the software if needed. - Contact Auto Giant to book in today.
